home sweet home

Sign of life.
Yes, I am back. After five weeks England I'm on Swiss ground again.
In my last week I didn't find the time to blog. Too much was going on in London! :) It was sooooo awesome, indescribable, perfect. F, J & me, we have never been so sad to go home. We weren't keen on going to Switzerland at all! We seriously didn't miss it.
But now that I am back, it's good to be here :) It's nice to have my own room back, to have a little bit of quiet again, to be home. Of course the fact that we promised each other to go back to London also makes it a lot easier ;)
Still, it's not only London I'll miss... also Worthing & the people there! I already miss going to C&S's flat and talking a mix between English and Spanish :)) BUUUT, they are coming to Switzerland for my birthday next month. I'm looking forward sooooo much:)
Anyway, I'll also write a little review on my week in London as soon as possible (probably tomorrow). Because right now, I have to make room in my wardrobe for all my new stuff ! ;)

All we have, is here and now

Happiness & sadness at the same time. I'm having completely mixed feelings at the moment. Yesterday was a greeeat greeat day, though. :)
After school we went to Parklife, a Milkshake-bar. Believe me, they have the most amazing Milkshakes in the world! As the sun was shining, we enjoyed life at the beach :) In the evening I finally skyped with F. This completely made my day! But seriously, that's what she always does. I began to realize how lucky I am to have her. 3 weeks I didn't really talk about anything what's going on inside of me - ok for this reason i still have my blog, but it's obviously not the same - and suddenly I could talk about everything again. :))) I'm so grateful that even through the computer, even we're 178km apart, she understands me perfectly. I don't have to explain anything to her, just talk, and she knows exactly what I mean. Two more days and I'll hold her in my arms again!!! SO EXCITED :)
Then I got an e-mail from my mum which nearly made me cry - thx mommy!! She sent me this song plus the lyrics:

Anyway, this morning I was too tired to get up, so I went to school for the second lesson ;) In the afternoon we went to see a movie in a friends' house and this evening we're already having our farewell party :((( I really don't want to think about leaving Worthing & the people here but just enjoy the night! :)

you leave me speechless

There are people who judge and people who don't... so, who do you prefer talking to about feelings?
Some things you just want to tell someone who you hardly know, who doesn't bother to tell anyone, who doesn't judge. Even more astounding is it when this person can read your mind, knows exactly what is inside of you but you don't want to let out...
However, Friday night was, as I mentionned, supposed to be the last night with M. But 5 minutes after he arrived he had to leave again! Some problems with the host family but I don't really know why... So we said goodbye, maybe forever, maybe just for some time. :) A bit later we went out to the "Liquid Lounge". We had a good time, waaay to long for I had to get up at 7.00 on Saturday. Meaning I had only 3 hours of sleep before we went to LOOOOONDON :)))
But anyway, the day already started great... We got to the train station in Worthing and who was standing on the same platform? M.
He took the same train in direction London as we, so we had a chance to say goodbye again, sober. "See you soon", that's what he said. I take it as a promise! ;)
Well, London. What can I say? It seriously left me speechless. We first went to Camden Town, where we spent 2 hours - waaay too little! ( Thanks God we're going back ;)) We had to walk through the pouring rain but I even enjoyed that! :)) Later we had time to shop (4 hours) all around Piccadilly Circus. I could have spent all my money in one day, seriously. But at the back of my head I always had the thought that we're going there for one week (OMG I'm so excited!), so I bought some things, but not too much. ;)) In the evening I was literally dead! For that reason I stayed home, watched some Grey's Anatomy and wen to bed really early.
Today I'll enjoy a lazy Sunday, going to watch a movie at a friends' place :)
First impressions of London are following!

see you in a bit

How do we know we miss someone? And what is it exactly what we miss? Is it the person itself, or just because we are used to have them around us? I, personally, often don't realize that I miss someone until I see them again. At the moment I feel like I could stay here muuuuch longer, without missing home...
Anyway.. On Wednesday eve C cooked his famous chicken curry for us :) In return I helped cleaning the kitchen and bought toilet paper & wine :D We stayed in the flat for some time & decided later to go to "Light Bar". The only problem: I didn't have an ID. Thankfully I was so clever to suggest we could just try it with my own ID... and so came I could get into the club with my own ID, that was pretty cool :) We stayed there until it closed (2.30) and I didn't even spend money for drinks.. thanks C! :))
Like every morning I thought on Thursday I should go to bed earlier this eve... School was nearly awful yesterday. In the afternoon I fell asleep and the teacher was a bit pissed because we all were so tired. But I seriously couldn't keep my eyes open! By the time I got home, though, I wasn't tired anymore. Weird. So I took a shower, had dinner with my host family - OMG this dinner was deliiiiiicious!!! (salad & potatoes with tuna) yummi - and got ready for a party evening. So much for the subject going to bed early. The plan for Thursday eve was to meet at C&S' flat and then going to the "Tangerine". So I got to their flat at 8.45 and we stayed there a bit, having some drinks & eating tortilla :) Later we went to the Tangerine but there was an other security than usually and he wouldn't let me in... So the others stayed there and I walked in direction of my home - really pissed - but then decided to call Milano. I knew he was out with some friends and so I joined them. His friends left quite early though and so we went to the beach. This night turned out to be one of the best nights here :) I really enjoyed it, just lying at the beach, looking at the moon & the stars, listening to music and having a good chat with M. Especially because today's his last day here! Which means: farewell party tonight... I really don't want him to leave! This time with him was so much fun :))
So, up up to one last evening with Milano!

Just pretend that it's not happening

Just pretend time's not running way too fast...
I can't believe we're already in the middle of week 3! The last two days passed by in a flash, once again.
On Monday afternoon J and I went to Brighton (not shopping! ;)). We enjoyed the sun at the beach & ate our first Fish and Chips since we are here. mhhhh, delicious. It was not really my day, head-ache, tired, not the best mood. That's why I decided to stay at home in the evening - second eve in a row ;) - and watch some Grey's Anatomy on my Laptop. Also had I a good chat after dinner with my host family. Once again I noticed that I was incredibly lucky with them! I mean, they let me do what ever I want, they cook very good, they consider me as a member of the family - which probably is the most important.
On Tuesday we had lots of fun in class. Our classroom is literally packed with students.
The new students are:
S (from the northern part of Italy). She is here with her husband and her daughter to refresh her English since she's an English teacher.
L (from Brazil). I haven't really talked to her yet, so...
C (from Belgium). She's a teacher as well and also here for further education.
N (from Syria/Germany). She's half-half, used to live in Germany but lives in Syria now.
Anyway, class with our teacher S was really funny on this day which was refreshing. Lately it has been quite boring. But I still enjoy going there, just because of the people. :))
On Tuesday after school we went to C&S' flat once again. We had dinner there and stayed there the whole evening, listening to music & having fun. Maaan, I'll really miss those guys here!
But I'm not concentrating on that yet. :)
I'd better hurry now - C will cook chicken curry for us this night! yummi! :D

If THIS ain't life, then I don't know what life is!

Unbelievable how fast time moves. 2 Weeks passed like a few days. Sometimes, I'm scared I don't enjoy my life - or my time here - enough. I don't want this time here to end!!
My weekend, though, I really enjoyed :))
Friday afternoon we went to Brighton with some guys from school to do some shopping and walking around in the city. The weather was okay, not sunny but not cold, either. We stayed there for dinner and went to an Italian restaurant which actually was very good. When we got back to Worthing we went out and later to M's house. Well not really to his house but to the shed in the garden :) They often have parties there and it's pretty cool. A huge disadvantage though is, that I live like half an hour from there which is okay when the weather's good but on Friday eve it was raining cats and dogs. Meaning I got home completely wet and tired like hell. If I hadn't had to get up early on Saturday, it would have been fine. Unfortunately I had to, because we went to Portsmouth. I was looking forward to it since I'd heard that there were good shops, a lot of outlets. When we got there I was a bit disappointed. The shops surely were cool, but still too expensive for me. And I'm not such a big fan of brand-name clothes anyway. So J and I grabbed something to drink and went to the harbour, just sitting there and enjoying the sun :) In the eve we went to S & C's flat. We wanted to go to the tangerine but it was nearly empty so we landed up in the flat again... It was P & F's (the Belgian girls) last evening. It's funny how fast you get used to people, how fast they become important. I'm really going to miss these 2 girls. We had a lot of fun together and I enjoyed every second with them :))) they might come to Switzerland for my birthday, so I'm gonna see them sooooon YAY!!
Anyway, after everyone had left I stayed with S.. talking about everything a bit :) Again, I got home late & that's what prevented me from getting up early this morning. Meaning I got up 20 minutes before I had to leave the house for going to the beach. It's N's birthday today so we went to the beach for having a bbq and tanning ;))
Seriously, I LOVE MY LIFE.
This day really showed me what life is, how precious it is and why we should enjoy every single second of it.

I've never...

20kg. Faaaaar to less for a suitcase to weigh if you're in a country like this!! Everyday I could spend money on tons of clothes (which I didn't - till now) ;) Not only are there millions of fashionable clothes, they are also cheap - the absolute dream for every girl!
I've recognized I should write a bit more often here... I'm just wondering what happened on Tuesday...
Ah right, Jazz Night in the "Hare&Hounds". I'm not really fan of Jazz music but since everyone was going there I decided to join them and we had a great time :) There was an Italian boy which apparently is also in our school and he was compleeetely drunk. M (the Italian boy from my class) was talking to him in English and still didn't tell him he's also Italian. That was quite funny today in school. M acted like he only knew a few Italian words and then the other one explained him what it means or corrected his pronunciation :D
Anyway, we were sitting in the backyard and met some new people from school who paid us some Tequilla shots - gracias! :)
We went home rather early because the pub was closing and a friend took us home by car.
Yesterday J and I went to an Indian restaurant for dinner - oh my gooosh, soooo delicious (and cheap!!!). After that we went to the cinema with the other girls to watch Bridesmaids. It was fun, a bit disappointing though. That's the thing with (high) expectations... After that we went to our friends flats once again. Normally it had been a bit boring there, but yesterday was reeeeeally fun :DD We played a drinking game called "I've never". Everyone is sitting in a circle and one person starts with a statement beginning with "I've never...". The goal is to find out who of the others "ever has", so the ones who already have ... gotta take a sip of their drink. However, I now know things about my best friend I didn't know before :))
Hangover + school = quite a bad idea. That somehow describes today's day... Lessons in school still are rather boring except the ones from S. It's really fun there, to discuss diverse things. Like today we were discussing about women and high heels. Two men against one. Two like them, one doesn't. I never thought there are men who dislike women on high heels. Because in one way we're wearing high heels because of men, aren't we? Anyway, like this lessons pass quite fast and we have a lot to laugh about :))
Today after school I went to H&M with S (Venezuelan Girl), where I found a green cardigan. It's really cool we have spanish-speaking friends here! It's a great opportunity to practise spanish & english at the same time.
Time flies way too fast here. Already two weeks are over now. Of course, I'm looking forward to seeing my friends & family again. But I'll miss everything here soooooo much!! But let's not think about that right now, let's enjoy the awesome time :) All that counts is here and now!
LET'S KARAOKE! - up up to another partynight.

It feels like home to me

Normally when I've got a cold I feel terrible. But here in Worthing nothing can really get me down at the moment - at least not for longer than an hour - not even a cold (which is actually not that bad). But to begin at the very start of my lovely weekend:
On Friday night we went to the flat of our friends again and after that to the "Tangerine", a bar we've been going almost every night. On Saturday the girls - except J and me - went to London. We decided not go because they did a sightseeing tour (which we are going to do when we're there for a week). So instead we went to Brighton with F & P (the Belgian girls). I don't know how to describe my impression of this city. It's amazing, lovely, perfect. We got ourselves some Chinese Take Away food, which was really delicious, and went down to the beach. Despite the fact that the beach was packed with people it was great. And wooow, the Brighton Pier is really lovely. We tanned a bit and even went swimming, well I did. That's probably where I caught my cold... After the beach we did some shopping at Primark. Seriously, I probably could spend a whole day in there! And everything is soooooo cheap. If only we had Primark in Switzerland... :)
In the evening we went to the "Tangerine" again. Yes, we might be quite dull but it's a bar where we know we'll get in even though we're not 18 yet.
On Sunday we went to see the Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Bath. I was looking forward to it but with my cold I couldn't enjoy it that much. But still it was a nice day, but nothing spectacular happened so I'm gonna leave this out :)
Well actually there was something... Last night was the first night I stayed at home- yes it really feels like home to me here, even though yesterday I had a little fit of homesickness. It was just a brief moment - ok maybe a bit longer- but I really didn't feel very good. Firstly because of my cold, Secondly because I probably lost my camera (FUCK! - but maybe, if I lost it in the coach, they'll find it), and thirdly I really missed everyone at home. It was a situation I normally would call my best friend, F. She's just the one to talk to when everything is annoying me. But anyway, I already felt better an hour later. Well, I still was tired and for that reason I went to bed early.
Today, finally some excitement in school again :) New Students, YAY. There's an Oman Guy, a Brazilian Boy and a German woman in our class now.
And of course, most exciting happening of the day, our teacher from Switzerland came to visit & check on us. This sounds rather unpleasant, but our teacher's really cool. We went to the beach in the afternoon since we were told it's the last sunny day for a few days. We were quite a group which was actually pretty fun because we were all from different countries. There were S&C (from Venezuela), M(I also call him Milano - from Italy), A(from Brazil), F&P (from Belgium) and us from Switzerland :) This evening then, we first went to the "Tangerine" and then to the "Parrot". It's been the cheapest evening this week since our teacher paid everything - thanks to him!! ;)
However, I'm still feeling a bit sick & that's why I go to bed now, rather early again. But there's nothing I could dream about. Because at the moment, I'm LIVING a dream :)

01 July 2011

nobody knows where they might end up

July. Seriously? I feel like only just it was January, like only just I had the first date with my boyfriend... Sometimes I feel like time goes faster than me!
Anyway, Worthing is still great even though school's become rather boring since it is every day exactly the same. The great thing though is we already made some friends :) On Tuesday we were in a Pub with fantastic live music! We had quite a fun evening and met a guy who looked like Bruno Mars (yes, we took a picture, haha). We also met the Libyan guy from our class with some friends of his so we joined them. Two of them (sister and brother) are from Venezuela but lived in Barcelona for one year and live here in Worthing now. The other one is from Spain but is going to university in Worthing. The Pub closed quite early so we all went to their flat (o my god this flat is peeeeeerfect) and stayed there a bit. S (the Venezuelan girl) had fake nails and we asked her to do ours, so I have false nails for the first time in my life now (& I already got used to them!) Well anyway Wednesday was rather boring, nothing special happened and in the evening we went home early since we all were tired. Yesterday though there should have been a Karaoke evening in a Pub where we wanted to go. So we met in C & S' flat again and stayed there until 10. The karaoke evening was cancelled but we went to the pub anyway. Some time later we tried to get into a club but there they are very strict so we went to the flat again. The two boys walked me home at 1.30 because they were afraid of me :)) Anyway I went to bed right away. And here I am know, still not ready for school - which means I'm off right now. Pictures are following!
